Fun on the Farm

Today we visited some of mom's friends from work. I had lots of fun chasing chickens, "driving" the tractor, and especially loved their apple trees.

Tiny Bubbles

Despite the windy weather today, I had fun playing with a bubble maker toy Uncle Scott & Auntie Tami gave me for my birthday. I even tried to eat the bubbles without much luck.

My New Sippy Cup

Mom and Dad like to carry around these neat water bottles, so I decided they looked more fun than my sippy cup and it was time for me to give it a try. Much to their surprise, I actually figured out how to work Dad's water bottle.

Yummy watermelon!

Mom told me that while she was pregnant, one of her favorite foods to eat in the summer heat was watermelon. I guess I inherited her love of the fruit, as I can't seem to get enough of it!

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Oh wait, it's not Christmas yet, but the 2nd best time of year....football season! Today is the first Viking preseason game, so I decided to break out my jersey for the occasion. If it looks familiar, this is the one I wore for my birth announcement baseball card.

One of my favorite things to do is watch Dad mow the lawn. As soon as I hear the lawnmower start up, I run to the window to watch. Sometimes I have to bang on the windows to get Dad's attention, and after he sees me, I wave at him while laughing hysterically.

What else can I climb on?

Lately I am obsessed with climbing on/in things...mom's step stool, clothes basket, high chair, etc. Auntie Janelle & Uncle Jim gave me this great Tonka truck for my birthday, and I've even managed to figure out how to crawl into the back end. Mom says my legos are supposed to go there and not Ethan...she's no fun!

As you can see, my truck was in the process of tipping over when this pict was snapped; however, I wouldn't let one little fall stop me from trying this again!
In addition to climbing, I continue to enjoy putting things together like puzzles, stacking cups, etc...so these legos have quickly become a favority toy of mine.

What does a puppy say?

I've been practicing all kinds of animal sounds lately. I've seemed to have mastered "woof" whem Mom or Dad asks "What does a puppy say?"....and sometimes I'll say "moo" in response to "What does a cow say?" Grandma & Grandpa Fernholz gave me these fun fridge magnets to help me learn all my farm animal sounds....I better start working knowing what to say when asked "What does a piggy say?"

I'm Gonna Party Like It's My Birthday!

Thanks so much to everyone who could make my first birthday...I had so much fun seeing you! Thanks also for all the nice presents you gave me...I will have plenty of new toys to keep me busy for a long time! For those who weren't able to make it, here are some fun picts from the day...

Mom and her friends Nelsy (coworker) and Jenna (neighbor) decided a margarita would taste pretty good in the heat/humidty...it was so hot! Mom thought this was one well deserved drink!

12 Month Checkup!

Today was my 12 month checkup...and I had a clean bill of health! I grew almost 2 inches and am now at 30 1/2"...which is still 75%. I gained a little over a pound, so I'm weighing in at 20 lb. 13 oz...which is in the 10 - 25%. No need to be concerned though, as I'm still eating well and am enjoying all the new "real" food and whole milk!

Happy Birthday To Me!!!!

Mom and Dad decided to take me to the Como Zoo today....based on Dad's reaction to all the people, I have a feeling that will be the last time I go to that zoo! It literally was a zoo at the zoo. I wasn't too impressed with the animals, although Uncle Dave would be proud of my infatuation with the fish display.

After supper tonight, I got to try a birthday treat....and boy did I like it! Mom thought Auntie Jodi gave me some hints the last time she babysat me, as I gobbled up the cupcake like a pro. I can't wait to tackle the big cake at my party on Saturday!

Curls, Curls, Curls

Well, I'm finally starting to get some hair, but it's pretty much limited to the back of my head. It does appear that I will have mom's curls....

A Bit of Baseball History...

This weekend we traveled to Eau Claire, WI for the Tollakson Family Reunion. It was lots of fun meeting some of my relatives for the very first time. Mom and Dad also decided this would be a perfect opportunity to take in an Eau Claire Express baseball game at Carson Park, as this is the field where Hank Aaron made his professional baseball debut.

After a rather restless night in the hotel, Mom and Dad decided to take me on my first beer tour. We visited the Leinenkugel Brewery in Chippewa Falls. It was a fun experience, and my parents would recommend it for someone looking for free entertainment and beer!
