Adventures in Babysitting

Mom had to recruit at SCSU today, so I got to visit Auntie Jodi, Uncle Chris and cousins Grace, Carter & Lydia. This was the first time mom had been away from me for more than a couple of hours, but she handled it pretty well. I think this was because she knew I was in good hands. Lydia and I had fun "talking" to each other...I think she really understands what I'm trying to say.

2-Month Checkup

Today I had my 2-month checkup...and boy have I grown. I weighed in at 12 lbs. even and was 22 1/4" long compared to 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 inches when I was born. I also had to get my first shots, which I think was harder on my mom than me. Hopefully this will get easier for her :-)

Little Farmer

We headed out west to Madison/Montevideo this weekend for a wedding and a baby shower at Auntie Janelle's. We also got to celebrate Great Grandma T's 90th birthday! Somehow Dad managed to spend some time in the field helping Grandpa Chuck and Mom took me out to see him. I really enjoyed the tractor, especially when Dad let me pretend I was driving.

And yes...mom has already started dressing me in pumpkin outfits!

Ethan's Baptism

Wow, what a day! I'm exhausted after visiting with all the family members that came to see me get baptized today. Mom said I did really well though and didn't even cry when they put holy water on me. I thought one of the best parts of the day was that I got to wear the outfit Dad wore for his baptism.

My First Play Date

Today I had my first playdate with Auntie Lindsey and Jackson, who is almost 10 months old. Mom said she hopes Jackson and I have as much fun growing up together as her and Auntie Lindsey had back at LqPV.

Our first trip out west....

What an exciting and busy weekend I had.... My mom and dad took me on my first long car ride "out west" (as they like to call it) to see my grandparents. Friday night I got to meet my cousins Adam and Tyler and Uncle Jim. Then on Saturday I met Great-Grandma Tuininga. She made homemade pancakes, which mom said were yummy! After breakfast, we traveled to the farm where Grandpa Chuck grew up and visited Aunties Kay and Annette. It was fun seeing all the farm animals! After a little bit of down time, we briefly visited Great-Grandma Fernholz at the nursing home before heading into the Lac Qui Parle county fair. Mom and dad were really excited for the beef commercials, and they said they lived up to their expectations! Mom said I was too small to go on any of the fair rides, but I did get to watch her and Auntie Tami play ski ball...looks like a lot of fun and hopefully someday Auntie Tami will teach me her skills.


Great-Grandma T. made special letter pancakes upon special request..B = Brian, A = Adam, T = Tyler. I bet if I was old enough to eat them, she would have made an E for Ethan.

Time flies when I'm having fun!

It's hard to believe that I'm almost 2 weeks old! Last Friday I had my second doctor appointment, as she wanted to check to my weight. I think she was really proud of me, as I weighed in at 6 lbs. 13 oz. so she said mom could now let me sleep as long as I wanted in the middle of the night and she no longer had to wake me up to feed me. This weekend I also got a visit from Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Carole...I had a lot of fun watching the Vikes game with them and was happy they played better than last week! I've also been getting my fair share of the Olympics, and mom and dad tease me because I have such long feet that some day I'll be breaking Michael Phelps's swimming records. I have a feeling dad will have me playing basketball though, so I think Michael's records will be safe :-) Other than that, Dad had to go out of town for work today - tomorrow, so Mom and I are going to staying with Auntie Jodi & the family. I'm excited to see my cousins again, and I think they will be surprised at how much I've grown. Hopefully they won't kick us out of the house when they see all the things mom has packed for just one night. Mom said she used to pack 10 pairs of shoes, now she's packing 1o outfits for me, so I guess her priorities have changed just a bit. Until next time...Go Vikes!
