My First Vacation Away From Mom & Dad

Mom and Dad decided it was time for a much neded vacation and were invited by their good friends and neighbors, the Jewett family, to join them on their annual fishing trip to Canada. While they were in Canada, I got to spend some time at Auntie Janelle's & Uncle Jims, as well as a few days at Grandma & Grandpa Fernholz's. I had so much fun playing with all my cousins, I wish that Mom & Dad went on vacation more often.

Fiesta Days

For the second year in a row, I got to attend the Fiesta Days Parade in Montevideo. This time the DeZeeuw family got to join us so I got to spend some extra time hanging out with my cousins. Before the parade started, I got to tour some of the old trains that were on display at the depot in Monte...they didn't look quite like Thomas, but I still had fun.

By the end of the parade, I felt like a walking political billboard. As you can tell, I didn't say no to any stickers that were offered to me.

Before we left Grandpa & Grandma's farm, I got to take one last ride on the gator with Buddy & Magic.

Holy Goats

We packed up the car this weekend (Mom, Dad, Magic and myself) and headed out west. By the time we got to Litchfield, I think Mom & Dad were ready to buy a SUV on the spot had there been one available. None the less, we finally made it home and had lots of fun. While Dad was golfing with Grandpa, I went with Mom and Grandma to visit Great Grandma Fernholz. She was full of her usual jokes and seemed to enjoy the visit. I also was highly entertained by the bird cages at the nursing home and didn't mind all the attention the residents gave to me.

On the way home, Mom had a big surprise for me. My favorite animal recently has been goats, and we got to stop at Sister Kay & Annette's farm and see real goats! I had so much fun running around the farm and seeing all the animals and spending time with my Great Aunties. It's moments like this that makes Mom & Dad wish we lived closer to our families.

All Better

I've recently learned that kisses do make everything "all better". So when I noticed a scuff on the wall, I decided it also needed a kiss to make it feel better.

Play Date With The Gills

Tonight the Gill family came to visit. We had lots of fun playing with my toys, but even more fun when we got to go to the park. Here's some of my favorite picts from their visit.

So maybe I should forget basketball and go into gymnastics with these balancing skills.

Cutting The Grass

Helping Dad mow the yard has always been one of my favorite things to do outside, but now it's even more fun when Magic chases me and my lawnmower.

Driving Lessons

One of Dad's favorite toys as a kid was his "dribie," which was a pretend steering wheel. I have a similar John Deere version of the toy that Dad was showing me how to use. I'm thinking he hopes I'll like this better than the real thing, as recently I like to sneak into the garage and jump in Mom & Dad's car and pretend I'm driving. They have now decided they have to lock the cars and put the keys on the roof.
